About Us

Who We Are

St. Croix Electric Cooperative (SCEC) has been proudly serving members since 1937. Headquartered in Hammond, Wisconsin, we are one of 24 electric distribution cooperatives in the state. Our role is simple yet vital: we purchase wholesale power through Dairyland Power Cooperative and deliver reliable electricity to homes and businesses across rural St. Croix County and parts of Pierce, Dunn, and Polk counties.

Our Mission

To enhance the lives of our members and strengthen the communities where they live by providing superior electric and other valued services.

Our Vision

To be your trusted energy expert by:

  • Offering competitive, reliable, safe, and sustainable electricity
  • Delivering exceptional customer service and fostering employee engagement
  • Leveraging technology and innovation for efficiency
  • Partnering with communities while honoring cooperative principles

The Cooperative Difference

SCEC operates under the seven Cooperative Principles, emphasizing democratic member control, education, and concern for community. This commitment shines through in programs like:

  • Operation Round Up®: Launched in 2023, funding community projects and charitable causes
  • Youth Leadership Congress Sponsorships: Empowering future leaders
  • Scholarships for Members and Dependents

Community Impact

From free parking passes at the St. Croix County Fair to Operation Round Up grants supporting local nonprofits, SCEC invests in the communities we serve. Our members aren’t just customers—they’re owners, partners, and neighbors.
