Water Heaters

Purchase discounted* large-capacity water heaters.

Through SCEC’s Go Electric! program, members can purchase discounted RHEEM® MARATHON® large-capacity water heaters equipped with a receiver, which manages when the element heats the water.

Even when the power is paused, the home still has access to all the hot water stored in the tank. Most homes do not notice when their water heater is not actively heating.

Members are eligible to receive a $3 monthly bill credit for participating in the program or a special submetered rate, if they have a second meter.

Off-Peak Water Heater

Pick up your water heater at the co-op office in Hammond. Effective 4/1/2026, delivery is no longer available

Heating times:

  1. Summer: Weekdays 8:30 pm - 11:30 am
  2. Winter: Weekdays 10 pm - 5:30 am & 1:30 - 3:30 pm
  3. All day weekends and holidays

Best for households of fewer than 5 people, unless installing a mixing valve

Dimensions:

  1. 70-3/4" to water connection
  2. 30-1/4" diameter

Peak Shave Water Heater

Capacity: 85 gallons

Pricing: 

  • New construction or upgrade from gas or previously uncontrolled: $1,104.00
  • Replace existing controlled water heater: $1,333.00

Heating times:

  1. Most times outside of Peak Alerts
  2. Powered down up to 6 hours during Peak Alerts, (4-16 days per year)
