Ready to Install?

Our team is ready to assist you with any distributed generation questions.

Before you install solar panels, you’ll need to submit a SCEC Distributed Generation Application in order to connect to our electric grid. Unless you plan to self-install the equipment, your contractor will submit the application on your behalf.

Once approved by SCEC, the system can be installed.

NOTE: Solar arrays do not qualify for subtractive off-peak metering. Please contact SCEC before submitting an application to discuss the requirements.

Get Started

  • Fill out and sign the Distributed Energy Resource Application Form. The installer also needs to sign this.
  • Fill out and sign the DER Interconnection Agreement and return it to our office.
  • Pay the Distributed Energy Resource Fees (found on Application Form)
  • Provide SCEC with proof of the required amount of liability insurance.
  • Provide SCEC with a site plan showing the location of main pieces of equipment, and a schematic diagram of the entire system.
  • Provide SCEC with the technical specifications of the inverter and proof that it is UL 1741 or IEEE 1547 compliant.
  • Ready to submit your application?  Email all application documents to: scecsolar@scec.coop
